This category recognises an individual’s outstanding contribution to Fiji tourism over many years.

Eligibility

Executive Management and owner operators of tourism service providers in the private sector, including, but not limited to, accommodation providers, airlines, tour & transport operators, restaurants etc. Applications are open to Fiji citizens and Fiji Residents.

This category recognises tourism professionals at or below the age of 35, employed in the tourism industry, who demonstrates leadership and outstanding talent through their roles and contribution to the industry.

Eligibility

Management and/or employees of Tourism service providers in the private sector, including, but not limited to, accommodation providers, hotels, resorts, airlines, tour operators, restaurants, etc.  The applicant must be a Fiji citizen.

This award recognises tourism professionals, employed in the tourism industry, who demonstrate a unique ability & personality to showcase Fiji’s culture as ambassadors in their roles. It also recognises professionals who display a genuine bula flair when showcasing Fiji as a culturally rich tourism destination. 

Eligibility

Non-executive management employees of Tourism service providers in the private sector, including, but not limited to, accommodation providers, hotels, resorts, airlines, tour operators, restaurants, etc.  The applicant must be a Fiji citizen.

This award recognises the efforts & contributions of organisations who have made a positive impact in the community through various community engagement initiatives. It recognises the efforts to support and initiate projects that improve and benefit the community.

Eligibility

Private tourism operations, hotels, resorts and villages & non-profit. Villages & non-profit entities must be associated with Tourism and demonstrate that CSR initiatives are driven from a tourism perspective to impact the community

This award recognises leadership in taking authentic action for the benefit of our environment, demonstrable by long-term commitment & performance. It also recognizes the promotion, development & engagement with the Fijian people & operator’s understanding of Fiji’s Blue Pacific Framework. 

Eligibility

Private tourism operations, hotels, resorts and villages & non-profit organisations. Villages & non-profit entities must be associated with Tourism and demonstrate that environmental initiatives are driven from a tourism perspective to impact the community.

This award recognises individuals employed in the tourism industry who demonstrate excellence in their roles and display exceptional talent and passion in enhancing tourism experiences and whose contribution is invaluable to the industry.

Eligibility

Non-executive management employees of Tourism service providers, including, but not limited to, accommodation providers, hotels, resorts, airlines, tour operators, restaurants, etc.  The applicant must be a Fiji citizen

This category recognises FHTA registered accommodation providers with evidence of facilities, cleanliness, value for money, catering (if applicable) and activities that enhance the guest experience. 

Eligibility

This category is open to accommodation providers primarily catering to backpackers, flashpackers, alternative or budget conscious travellers such as hostels, lodges, dormitories & other budget accommodation providers. This category includes marine-based operators.

This category recognises FHTA registered establishments with high quality levels in focused service and facilities with limited food & beverage offerings, evidence of cleanliness, value for money, catering (if applicable) and activities that enhance the guest experience.

Eligibility

Hotels and resorts with evidence of in-room amenities, food & beverage outlets and activity options that enhance the guest experience in this target market. This category includes marine-based operators.

This category recognises FHTA registered establishments providing full service, food & beverage dining options, in-room dining, recreation activities & other hotel/resort services; with evidence of cleanliness, value for money, catering (if applicable) and activities that enhance the guest experience. 

There are two sub-categories:

  1. 50 rooms and above
  2. Less than 50 rooms

 

Eligibility

Hotels & resorts and evidence of wide range of facilities, superior service standards, well-appointed rooms & excellent food & beverage options. This category includes marine-based operators.

This category recognises FHTA registered establishments that exemplify luxury in all areas of operations, with attention to detail in design, architecture, and services that consistently exceed guest expectations.

Eligibility

Luxury Hotels & Resorts – less than 100 rooms: high-end properties that feature unique characteristics and whose standout feature would be its customized offerings that are above and beyond traditional offerings. These high-end properties have specialized design, innovation, exemplary personalized service, food & beverage menus & recreation options in accordance with target market expectations, and cater to a smaller target audience usually tailored for example: adult-only guests that value exemplary personalized service beyond price. This category includes marine-based operators.

This category recognizes the outstanding efforts of an organization in supporting tourism operations in Fiji. This  includes product supply, marketing &/or promotional  initiatives & support services that either individually or collectively, have contributed substantially to the sustainability, awareness & success of Fiji as a tourism destination.

Eligibility

Private operators including tourism event planners and suppliers including media whose product/s and service/s integrate with other tourism products to enhance the visitor experience. This category excludes spa & wellness operators, experiences and attractions, wedding, accommodation providers, tour & transport operators, restaurants who have their own categories. This category is strictly for B2B product and/or service providers that have not entered any other category. Applicants in this category support the tourism industry.

This category is open to inbound & transport operators & facilitators. It recognises the significant contribution to  tourism through the provision of inbound travel, and transport related services that enhance the visitors’ experience of the destination.

Eligibility

A Transport Operator is an entity or individual providing commercial transportation services specifically designed to support tourism activities. This includes, but is not limited to, operators offering passenger transportation by land, sea, or air, catering to the needs of tourists for transfers, tours, or leisure travel.

Eligible transport operators must demonstrate a focus on enhancing the tourism experience, maintaining high safety standards, complying with relevant industry regulations, and delivering quality customer service. Services can include, but are not limited to:

  • Charter or shuttle services
  • Sightseeing tours
  • Cruise or ferry services
  • Adventure transportation (e.g., hot air balloons, helicopter or scenic flights, or safari vehicles)
  • Any other transportation service integral to a tourism experience.

Operators must meet any additional requirements outlined in the application process such as sustainability practices, innovation, and contributions to the tourism industry.

This category recognises establishments – restaurants & catering services, offering a tourism experience that commensurate with customer expectation of the establishment. They also demonstrate a commitment to using local produce wherever practicable. It is not a food award but does recognise a significant contribution to tourism through the delivery of an authentic consumer experience showcasing innovative food and flavours, including beverages.

Eligibility

Entry is open – but not limited to hotel or stand – alone restaurants, event caterers, pubs and cafés. Evidence must be provided that customer composition are largely tourist population.

This category supports & promotes adventure tourism, and include experiences and activities that offer the highest quality product experience & optimal operational performance, and involve organized adventure activities on land, air or water that offer:

• Thrills or excitement based on active visitor participation or personal challenge;
• Should include cultural/natural experiences which enhance the visitor’s knowledge; and/or an appreciation of the unique cultural and/or natural landscape of Fiji.

Examples include, but are not limited to, water, air or land activities such as: air tours, rafting, fishing, 4-wheel driving, surfing, etc. This category celebrates those businesses that provide an exemplary customer experience.
There are two sub-categories:
a) Land/air based experience or attraction
b) Marine based experience or attraction

Eligibility

Private & community operated land, air or marine adventure-based experiences, tourist establishments, tour operators, activity operations, with or without cultural activities independent of resorts.

This category recognises creativity and innovation in a fully integrated marketing campaign that is proven to be successful in the international marketplace. A campaign can be a single promotional activity or a series of related promotions, initiated in the last 12-18 months.

Eligibility

Entry is open to, but not limited to, all Fiji based tourism operators, tourism organizations and marketing alliances.

This category recognises the outstanding contribution of wedding operators to the industry. They also demonstrate a commitment to providing superb and exceptional wedding experiences in Fiji.

Eligibility

Wedding operators who are independent or part of an integrated resort and/or other tourism related complex. 

This category recognises the exceptional standards in service offered by spa operators to promote wellness and outstanding spa experiences. They also demonstrate a commitment to our environment and promote sustainability in their practices.

Spa operators who are independent or part of an integrated resort and/or other tourism related complex

This category recognises operators in the dive industry that contribute to maintaining exceptional standards and promote/showcase the quality and uniqueness of diving in Fiji. They also contribute to creating and raising awareness in ocean and marine environment protection through dive practices and sustainable efforts.

Eligibility

Dive operators who are independent or part of an integrated resort and/or other tourism related complex.

This category recognises the exceptional contribution of organisations towards the execution of innovative and creative Conference and Incentive events in Fiji. It also recognises the promotion of Fiji as a destination of choice for C&I and its significant contribution to tourism.

Eligibility

Entry is open to, but not limited to, all tourism operators, tourism organizations and the private sector. 

This category recognises tourism organisations that have demonstrated a commitment to improving customer services and experiences through employee training & development.

Eligibility

Entry is open to, but not limited to, all tourism operators, tourism organisations and the private sector. 

This category acknowledges operators who provide high-quality tourism affiliated products or service with excellent  operational performance. Examples include but are not limited to retail businesses, factory tours, dance groups, wine tastings, cooking classes, and more.

Eligibility

Private & community operated non-adventure-based establishments, tour operations, and experiences with or without cultural activities independent of resorts. This category is strictly for B2C product and/or service providers that have not entered any other category. Applicants in this category are affiliated with the tourism industry.
